By Father David Burrows, Founder, Rome Public Adjusting (RomePA)
As we launch Rome Public Adjusting here in our beloved Rome, Georgia, I feel called to share not just what we do, but why we do it, and the journey that has led me to this new ministry. For over two and a half decades, I've had the profound privilege of walking alongside individuals and families facing loss, helping them navigate the often daunting world of insurance claims.
My father of blessed memory, Damon, instilled in me a fundamental truth that guides my life and now RomePA: "People Are For Caring." This isn't just a catchy phrase; it's the very heartbeat of our mission. When disaster strikes – a fire, a storm, a flood – it's not merely property that's damaged; lives are disrupted, peace is shattered, and a sense of normalcy is lost. In these moments, people need more than just a policy number; they need genuine care, understanding, and a zealous advocate.
A Legacy of Justice and Restoration
Over my 25+ years in the insurance sector, from agency owner to corporate trainer specializing in client-side advocacy, I've seen firsthand the critical difference a dedicated advocate can make. I've had the honor of being instrumental in securing well beyond $25 million dollars for policyholders in fair and equitable insurance claim settlements.
This figure isn't just a number to me. It represents:
Homes rebuilt and families rehoused: Each dollar contributed to turning devastation back into a place of refuge and comfort.
Businesses saved from collapse: Helping entrepreneurs recover their livelihoods and keep their dreams alive.
Dignity and peace of mind restored: Ensuring that those who had paid their premiums received what was justly due to them, allowing them to move forward without undue financial burden.
Countless acts of "adjusting" in the truest sense: Bringing situations back into a state of justice, rectitude, and harmony.
More Than a Business: A Ministry of Care
At RomePA, we view our work through an Orthodox lens. We understand that justice is a divine attribute, and in a humble way, our aim is to manifest this divine justice in the earthly realm. Just as Saint Nicholas, our patron, was renowned for his compassionate interventions to ensure equity for the wronged, we strive to be a steadfast guide and advocate for our clients.
Our C.A.R.E. framework – Creatively Think, Actively Think, Recognize the Best, and Execute the Plan – isn't just a process; it's a commitment to meticulous diligence and unwavering advocacy, always with our clients' best interests at heart. We are committed to the highest fiduciary standards, doing everything moral, ethical, and legal to achieve a fair, honest, equitable, and generous solution.
