Why We Love Rome, Ga

Elizabeth and I are often asked why we chose Rome, Georgia, as the place to put down roots—both personally and professionally—with the launch of Rome Public Adjusting. The answer is simple: Rome has captured our hearts in a lasting way. It is more than a charming Southern town. It is a place with a distinctive character that aligns with our commitment to serving people well.

Rome has a strong sense of community. Neighbors look out for one another, and there is a genuine willingness to help during times of need. That spirit of mutual care is one of the reasons we chose to build our business here.

The city carries a rich local history. It was the home of First Lady Ellen Axson Wilson and sits at the confluence of three rivers that have shaped the region for generations. The foothills of the Appalachians begin here, giving the landscape and the people a sense of resilience and rootedness. Downtown Rome remains one of the finest main streets in the region—beautifully preserved architecture, active local businesses, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Rome also places real value on education, quality direct medical care, and the preservation of Southern traditions. Miles of trails sit just minutes from most neighborhoods, making the outdoors easily accessible. And when the Christmas season arrives, the city comes alive with a warmth that is hard to miss.

We have also been moved by the city’s respect for its past. Places like Myrtle Hill Cemetery stand as quiet reminders of those who came before, and the presence of sites such as the Chieftains Museum invites thoughtful engagement with the fuller story of this land and its peoples.

Rome is more than a pin on a map. It has a unique ethos, a solid history, and a spirit of community that has welcomed us. That is why we chose to make it our home and the foundation for Rome Public Adjusting. We are glad to be part of this place and look forward to serving our neighbors with the same care and dedication Rome has shown us.

We believe that “People Are For Caring,” and there is no place we would rather live out that principle than right here in Rome, Georgia.
